timewasting

Saturday, October 28, 2006 by fiveless
Now that school is over, timewasting begins!
Haha, I wasted a whole lot of time yesterday, but it was really fun.
In the spirit of halloween...
Anyway, I just found this game by M&Ms, kinda cool. You're supposed to find 50 movie titles in the picture. I took like 25 minutes + to finish it, with some help =P It's quite fun lar, if you're bored. The soundtrack gets a little annoying after a while though. A mix of recent and really old movies, lalala. K. The game is here.
Oh and LOL@ this haunted house. Really unnerving, though.

7B HAD FULL ATTENDANCE EVEN THOUGH ITS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AND SCHOOL NOWADAYS = SIAN.

ALRITE MAN 7B KEEP IT UP! - for class stuff. heh.

class party wouldnt have been a success without everyone's contribution in one way or another. when i say "one way or another" i refer to you being there during the party or you contributing food and food and more food!

special thanks to---

ruolin for the yam cake. i will rmb from now on tt yam cake is actually not purple. hahahaha.
angela for the banana cake, even tho u didnt bake it :p
weilin sherine neeti for the belgium chocolate yumyum

yanheng for teaching me how to save class funds yet buy LOADS of tidbits :D tt's why i decided to buy the "buy2 get 1 free" tubs of ice cream even tho the initial plan was to buy ben&jerry's. heh.
Mr Teo for helping us keep the ice cream in the staff lounge! without his help there will be no way we could hav the sinfully chocolatey/tiramisu-ish ice cream with bread :D:D
and of course our dear treasurer preston for collecting $$ and more $$. we know it is a whole load of sai gang.

thank you all!

i hope the last day of school had been fun for all of you, with the slack tutorials, class party, watching yj represent 7B in the chem quiz, and of course the much entertaining pictionary and charades during gp!

Interesting news if you haven't heard yet. Singapore/PAP (if you happen to think them synonymous, it's your call) got pwnt on the Far East Economic Review. Check out this letter from the editor in response to Singapore banning the FEER because of this article, about CSJ as a martyr (which obviously couldn't sidestep the issues of governance and single-party politics and the usual stuff). I think the concerns raised in the latter article are legitimate (duh), but LOL at MICA for banning the FEER because of some touchy issues.

LOL! Unglam photos of me. Hahaha. Anyway, in other news, photos from lessons today. Too bad for those who weren't in school *cough*.

In Chem...
Hm. Prince charming and a stepsister.
The fairy godmother (guess who) teaching Cinderella to dance. O.o
And as you can tell, Mr Wong was very amused

Mass dance! Chicken dance =DAnd during GP... Risk on the board. (YJ drew the map. )
Mark rearranging troops.
And YJ really likes carrots.

Woo! I was looking through my phone, (okay not really looking through the phone, it's like, opaque) and I found random photos of our class people! Woo! Some of them (probably all -.-) are blur because my phone cam sucks. :(

OMG! Our first class outing thingy to Prata House! (With YJ and paul kokstering around)
Random class shots. Including paul with long hair and random photos of lossy with one of him perving looking at his phone dubiously.

Okay. That's all for now. Enjoy your weekend!

Geography

by OneFook
Koped this from Yihui's blog, and she koped it from the geog department website.

Ten Reasons to Study Geography

10. Mother Teresa, one of the most admired women in history, went to India as a Geography teacher.

9. You won't mispronounce aa.

8. Michael Jordan, a geography major, makes over $80 million a year.

7. Know the real cost of Nike sneakers.

6. Prince William switched from studying Art History to Geography at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

5. What to do during a tsunami, or Great Singapore Sale.

4. Einstein was reported to have said,” As a young man, my fondest dream was to become a geographer. However, while working in the customs office I thought deeply about the matter and concluded it was too difficult a subject. With some reluctance I then turned to physics as a substitute."

3. Reasons to visit exotic places.

2. Figure why Malaysian Cadbury bars taste different from Australian ones.

1. Because Geography simply ROCKS!

=======
GEOGRAPHY ROCKS!!!

...and Zhuoyi is random.

Wow, that was random.

effects of the witching hour

Wednesday, October 11, 2006 by angela
today i learnt a new word. it is:

HOLA!

many thanks to tania's pw group.
er.
all i want to say is

i dont like pw, it is troublesome.
i wish naruto anime people would stop making filler episodes and get back to the real story.
i want to watch tom and jerry, but unfortunately all they have on kids central is really, really dumb [as in insult to intelligence/female sex/male sex type of DUMB] shows like
winx?
minx? whatever those flying fairy dudes and dudettes are la. the girls have waists that are smaller than their faces. and the guys... erm all of them are horrendously T shaped. not even V you know. T !!!!
i would rather watch reruns of jackie chan animation [which is, fortunately on everyday at 6] everyday than look at those morbidly deformed fairy persons.
we're running low on milk. masters pura milk, that is.
im hungry. dinner was so long ago!
i need money to satisfy my limited wants. {[to me they are limited la. i dont want to get a private jet [think price of fuel] or yatcht [think pollution + harmful UV rays]. or a $20k chanel dress [how about think this is completely extravagant and almost illogical!?!?] or whatever it is those red carpet people are wearing, so SLOMAN IS WRONGGGGGG snickersnicker]}

and. there is training tomorrow at 2. it will probably end at 8.
therefore. YES TOMORROW I WILL BE TANNED AGAINNNNNN

sorry if this sounds mildly insane. well the time is kinda close to the witching hour, you know.

XOXOXOXOXO -angela

p.s. i love dota <3

Solitare Fun

Sunday, October 08, 2006 by wan.chee
Just as my group was finishing our OP for PW, we got bored and Yan Fen started playing minesweeper. This spurred on Yanheng to suggest to look for minesweeper cheats. And then to solitare cheats.

Now a very cool trick.

Trick number1: To finish game quickly.

Open solitare. Click alt, shift and 2.

Tada. Game finish.

Trick number 2: To move card to illegal position.

Open solitare. Move card to legal position and click esc without letting go of mouse click. Then click on any random card. There you go, card moved to illegal position.

HOHO. You could tell how bored we were. Solitare and Minesweeper are ultimate addictive no-brainer, no-lifer games. But there are fun.

Yay have fun with PW OP! See you all tmr... unless I suddenly get a stomach ache or something. HMM.

omg optical illusions!

by fiveless
Wow. These things are quite scary.

See this picture below? The two labelled boxes are the same colour. Check on photoshop if you don't believe me. Oo.

And the surface of these two tables are exactly the same. Rotate the image yourself on photoshop to check again. Or try it here

One last one. The centre crossbar of these two figures are exactly the same colour. Check it on photoshop again.

Okay. Enough of being blown away for today.

what is the president's job?

uniform!

Wednesday, October 04, 2006 by fiveless
Check this out. The STOMP (lol) School-U design competition has drawn in some very amusing entries, plus some really good ones. Go there for a good laugh if you're free. Anyway, I've distilled some gems from the first thirtysomething entries for your enjoyment.
First up, strange things people say. The third one was ultimately hilarious: the tree stages of life: birth, middle age and death.

Anyway, next up some saratorical oddities (lol@black shiny shoes). The really psyched-out black-red guy's u was kinda cool, but I wouldn't wear it.

And this dude obsessed with unions. ("Girly character" is rather questionable)

And some "hmm"s raised. Do note for the second picture, the hood is the only thing that's waterproof on the uniform. Go figure.

And don't worry, guys are muched maligned too. Yup a pink tie for the guys.

And the first lesson of all. Proofread. Second lesson, make sure your tie is made of cloth before putting it on.

And I think these were the best of them all.

At any rate, to the creators of these, I hope no offense is taken. I thought some of these were rather excellent of not for the amusing bits here and there. I applaud you for trying to keep STOMP alive and exploring your artistic talents in brightening up some very dull school uniforms. We should know.
